The Faces Behind Walls Counseling: Where Connection Begins
Written by Abby Berta
At Walls Counseling, we believe healing doesn’t happen in isolation—it begins in relationship. At the heart of that belief are the people who bring it to life every day: our founder, Will Walls, and our Clinical Director, Anne Farrell. These two leaders don’t just guide a practice—they embody its ethos of compassion, presence, and authenticity.
Will Walls: Where Clinical Depth Meets Human Warmth
Will Walls has always been drawn to people and their stories. With more than a decade of clinical experience, Will has walked alongside clients navigating anxiety, trauma, family strain, spiritual questions, and identity exploration. His path—from counselor to teacher, area director for Young Life, and back to therapy—has always centered on the same goal: helping people feel known, safe, and empowered.
What sets Will apart is his belief in the therapeutic relationship as a vehicle for transformation. “It’s really important that you think I can help you,” he often tells clients, “and it’s equally crucial that I believe I can help. If we have that shared trust, we’re starting from a place of possibility.”
Will founded Walls Counseling on the belief that good therapy is built on human connection. He and his team bring together deep clinical expertise—especially in trauma-informed care, EMDR, and motivational interviewing—with a radical respect for the dignity and resilience of every person who walks through the door. Whether it’s helping someone shift a self-critical narrative, navigate a major life transition, or reconnect with what matters most, Will’s work is grounded in presence, practicality, and hope.
Anne Farrell: Holding Space with Insight and Compassion
Anne Farrell brings more than 20 years of experience in mental health to her role as Clinical Director—but what clients and colleagues notice first is her quiet wisdom and open heart. Her work has spanned hospital systems, schools, and private practice, giving her a unique ability to meet people where they are, with clinical skill and soulful care.
Anne’s therapeutic style is both intuitive and grounded. She works through the lens of Interpersonal Neurobiology, a framework that highlights how our brains and bodies are shaped—and healed—through relationships. Anne helps clients explore their inner world with curiosity, make sense of past pain, and move toward lives marked by meaning and connection.
For Anne, therapy is a sacred space. “There’s something deeply honoring,” she says, “about being invited into another person’s journey—the raw, real, resilient parts of them. It’s a privilege to walk alongside people as they remember who they are.”
Anne’s leadership at Walls Counseling reflects this same spirit: thoughtful, warm, and deeply aligned with the mission to offer excellent, client-centered care. She supports therapists in staying grounded, reflective, and clinically sharp—so that they can offer clients the very best of themselves.
Why Walls Counseling Feels Different
Walls Counseling offers what many clients are seeking: a diverse team of skilled therapists, straightforward scheduling, and a relational, trauma-informed approach. But what makes us different isn’t just what we offer—it’s how we show up.
We believe therapy should feel human. That means you’re not rushed. You’re not a checklist or a case file. You’re a whole person, and we meet you that way. Our therapists remember the details, follow up when it matters, and make space for both the hard stuff and the hope.
You don’t need to have it all figured out to begin. You don’t need to be in crisis to deserve care. You just need to be ready to connect—with yourself, with what matters, and with a guide who can walk beside you.
A Team That Reflects the Community
Our team mirrors the rich diversity of the communities we serve—across identities, experiences, and perspectives. We know that therapy is most effective when it feels culturally relevant and relationally attuned. That’s why we work hard to ensure that our clients feel seen, understood, and supported by someone who “gets it.”
At Walls Counseling, we keep it simple:
We show up. We care. We connect.
Whether you’re starting therapy for the first time or returning with new questions and a deeper sense of yourself, we’re honored to be part of your journey.
