Our Clinical Directors

  • Anne Farrell, MA, LPC, EMDR-t

    An elusive, but common desire is to find wholeness - within ourselves and also with our relationship to others. Anne’s work with clients often includes identifying unmet needs, learning to name the hurts of the past and finding meaning and purpose in the present. Hope, healing and even flourishing are found when one can engage in being known in a safe environment and trusting relationship. She considers it a high calling and privilege to walk alongside people at any point in their journey to wholeness. She is committed to providing a healing, calm environment for growth and change and welcome clients from all backgrounds, belief systems, and cultures.

  • Will Walls, MA, LPC, LAC, NCC EMDR

    Will works with adolescents and adults, helping them develop personally and to overcome obstacles in their lives. He has spent the past ten years helping families as a counselor, a director of a local Young Life Area, a teacher, and a volunteer. Will has worked with people for his whole professional life. His life experience coupled with his clinical training make him an ideal fit for individuals, couples, and families.

  • Steve Coen, PhD

    My therapeutic orientation is a blended approach that weaves together the principles and techniques of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Systems Theory. This dynamic fusion seeks to understand individuals not only through the lens of their thoughts and behaviors but also within their various social and relational systems.

Our Supervisors

  • Ashley Root, MA, LPC

    Ashley (she/they) has extensive experience processing trauma, family dynamics, grief, divorce, gender identity, gender expression, sexuality, domestic abuse, spiritual abuse and mental illness. The work that she does in the therapeutic space is well suited for individuals looking for an affirming, non-judgmental space to process their lived experiences and make changes towards a more aligned, embodied and self-compassionate sense of self.

  • Emily Starkey, MA, LPC

    Emily strives to invite individuals, couples, or families to come as they are, to feel safe, to bring the trauma, life stressors, anxiety and also life joys to a safe place. Emily understands that partaking in any therapy process can be challenging to start, and she commends you for taking the first steps to taking control over your life and mental health. Emily understands how important it is to provide a safe, comfortable, and relaxing environment for self discovery, healing, and growth. 

  • Beth Battersby, MSW, LCSW

    Beth Battersby is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master of Social Work degree from Virginia Commonwealth University (2006). With nearly two decades of diverse clinical experience, she has supported individuals and families across a range of settings, including residential treatment programs for youth with significant emotional needs and comorbid diagnoses, international and domestic adoption services, school-based counseling, and neurorehabilitation for individuals with traumatic brain injuries.

  • Molly Ohle, MA, LPCC

    Molly (they/them) brings a warm and comfortable presence to the counseling space, and works with their clients to foster growth and movement during those moments of life that feel stuck and stagnant. They strive to create an affirming and safe space while navigating a range of concerns, including interpersonal relationships, self-discovery, stress and anxiety management, suicidal thoughts and behaviors, and processing traumatic experiences.

  • Melody Reichert, MA, LPCC

    Melody (she/her) desires to create a safe place for her clients to express themselves and navigate through obstacles and challenges they face. Helping to reframe negative messages clients may have received throughout their lifetime and identifying learned behaviors to protect themselves. Reflecting on these childhood experiences allows us to develop better-coping behaviors moving forward to help us heal and create more meaningful relationships with others.

  • Justin Wilson, MSW, SWC

    Justin (he/him) believes his role as a therapist is to fully accept his clients for whoever they are. All therapeutic work is dependent upon this foundation. No two people are the same, and neither is their suffering. In order to understand a client’s unique difficulties, Justin finds it necessary to drop all assumptions about them and their lives from the start of therapy. Justin wants to accurately understand his client’s worldview, and if he is doing his job correctly, his clients should feel like they are being genuinely heard. 

  • Ebony Trotter, MS, LPCC

    You are the biggest and most important part of your mental health journey because it requires you to be open to the therapeutic process. It is not always easy to get help, but it is strong to realize sometimes in life, we need each other. It is helpful to have a safe space to process our feelings, thoughts, and emotions. It is also helpful to be able to look at things from more than one perspective or through different lenses.

  • Cate Snow, MA, LPC

    Cate’s passion is supporting individuals as they explore and learn from life’s experiences and challenges. She feels strongly that every individual, regardless of their circumstances, deserves the opportunity to experience personal growth and increased emotional self-awareness in a counseling setting.

  • Sarah Massey, MFT Candidate

    Sarah is a dedicated MFT Candidate and mother of two, specializing in working with families, couples, and adolescents. Growing up in the beautiful state of Colorado, Sarah developed a deep love for the great outdoors and a passion for athletics. She is an avid traveler, scuba diver, and volleyball player, bringing the same energy and enthusiasm to her therapeutic work. Sarah's approach to therapy is unique—she believes in connecting with others by engaging in activities together, particularly outside, where the natural environment can be healing.

  • Jose Castaneda

    Jose Castaneda, MA, LPCC

    Jose (he/him) is eager to work with diverse populations to gain valuable experience and make the most of his learning opportunities as he work towards obtaining his license. He believes in the collaborative nature of the therapeutic relationship, where clients actively participate in their growth and healing processes.

  • Anna Duerst, MA, LPCC, ACD

    Anna (she/her) holds a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) and is a Licensed Addiction Counselor (ACD). She has experience supporting adults impacted by trauma, mental health challenges, incarceration, and substance use issues. She approaches counseling from a person-centered perspective and attachment theory, helping clients explore relational patterns, process attachment-related wounds, and foster healthier, more secure connections.

  • Brittney Barger, MA, LPCC

    Brittney (she/her) completed her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS). She is very excited to continue her journey as a counselor. Brittney has worked in with adults and children with Autism Spectrum Disorder primarily through Applied Behavioral Analysis therapy along with various other roles.

  • Mary Bell, MA, LPCC, NCC

    Mary (she/her) completed her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS). She has experience supporting clients of all ages, from children to adults, in settings such as inpatient eating disorder treatment, school-based counseling, and outpatient therapy offices. Mary’s goal as a therapist is to help individuals flourish and move toward a healthier, happier version of themselves.

    Amanda Knowles, LPCC

    Amanda (she/her) aims to be a compassionate therapist who works with children, teens, and adults. She supports clients who feel overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, trauma, or life’s challenges, and who long for relief, understanding, and a path forward. Amanda helps people who want to feel heard, gain confidence, and live more authentically. She strives to create a safe, compassionate space where clients can heal, grow, and discover the fulfilling life they deserve.

    Renee (she/her) brings a compassionate and grounded presence to the counseling relationship, supporting adults who often feel pressure to appear strong while carrying stress, uncertainty, or the weight of others’ expectations. She works collaboratively with her clients to explore identity, navigate life’s challenges, and foster deeper self-connection.

    Simone (she/her) is working towards her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS). She has experience working with children and teens through Applied Behavioral Analysis therapy for the past 4 years. Although she has experience working with younger ages, she is excited to work with individuals of all ages.

  • Mary Ann Tonsits

    Mary Ann (she/her) is excited to begin her professional journey as a practicum student with Walls Counseling. She is a proud Guam native with military experience, and enjoys short hikes, anything involving a scenic view, and competing with her husband during workouts! Mary Ann is pursuing her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS).

  • Angelina James

    Angelina (she/they) is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS), with an expected graduation in May 2026. They have extensive experience in Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) therapy, working with children on the Autism Spectrum, and is passionate about supporting people from all walks of life, particularly within the LGBTQ+ community.

  • Lubna Al Sindy

    Lubna is working towards her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at UCCS. She has experience in the mental health field working with children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of settings to promote personal growth and healing. Lubna’s unique background and cultural competence allow her to provide a safe, non-judgmental space for individuals of all walks of life. She believes in empowering individuals, families, and children to become the best versions of themselves through a holistic approach.

    Abigail Sisneros

    Abigail (she/her) is currently working toward her Master's degree in Clinical Psychology at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS). She has been working with children and teenagers on the autism spectrum for over 4 years through her experience in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), however is excited to work with individuals of all ages. She aims to provide a supportive environment for individuals to explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in a non-judgmental space.

    Olivia (she/her) is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Social Work at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS). She is passionate about working with individuals, couples, and families from all demographics and diverse backgrounds. Olivia values honesty, kindness, and meeting clients where they are by supporting them through life’s challenges with empathy and respect. Olivia has professional experience as a case manager and providing restorative education for individuals of all ages navigating the criminal justice system.

    Grace (she/her) is working toward her master’s degree in Social Work at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS). She has experience supporting individuals and families in diverse settings, including homeless services, foster youth case management, and research on moral injury in correctional healthcare workers. She aims to provide a safe, welcoming space where clients can explore challenges and work toward personal growth and resilience.

    Shantel Horne

    Shantel Horne (she/her) is currently working towards her Master's degree in clinical psychology at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs (UCCS) with an emphasis in trauma. She aims to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgemental space and to fill service seeking gaps through holistic, trauma-informed care. Shantel strives to create a therapeutic environment grounded in empathy and collaboration where clients feel heard, understood, and comfortable exploring life's challenges and processing emotions.

Our Nurse Practitioners

  • Brian Watkins, PMHNP

    I’m a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner who works with adults facing a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, mood disorders (including the bipolar spectrum), PTSD, sleep issues, addictions, and personality-related challenges. I believe the best outcomes come from a collaborative approach, working together with clients and therapists to find solutions that fit real lives.

  • Michael Renwick

    Michael Renwick, RN-BSN, PMHNP-student

    I began my academic journey at the University of North Texas, where I earned a degree in Finance. While I appreciated the analytical and problem-solving aspects of finance, I felt called to a career that allowed for deeper human connection and a greater impact on individual well-being. This led me to pursue nursing, completing my education at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston.
